Paired Associate Learning (Shape Pairs)

You see two shapes on the screen side by side. They are shown for three seconds


One of the shapes is then shown, and you press the left response key if you first saw the shape on the left, the right response key if you saw it on the right. In this case you would press the right key

After a while you see a second pair of shapes, and then again respond to single shapes depending on which side you first saw them. But now any of the four shapes can appear, not just the two you saw most recently. This is repeated until you have eight shapes to remember

We record the reaction times and the number of errors averaged over each level the test, as well as for the entire test.

This test can be run on a Java-enabled mobile phone.
